As part of the University of Arkansas data analytics showcase, several faculty affiliated with the CSR presented a poster entitled, "Data Literacy: A Social Science Perspective."
The poster includes examples of DataViz, maps, and other common quantitative data analysis in social science. In addition, the poster showcases the important role of theory in providing conceptual frameworks for interpreting data.
Examples are provided relative to the four phases of the data analytics cycle, along with the important role of qualitative analysis in interpreting text-based data. Also included in the poster is a preview of the innovative curriculum that several CSR affiliated faculty are currently developing in order to enhance resources for further incorporating data examples in teaching.
