MA student Sam Thomas to attend distinguished data analytics program

May 14, 2018

Recent MA graduate, Sam Thomas, is among the select students nationwide to be accepted into the Fall 2018 cohort of the Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) program offered by the Institute for Advanced Analytics at North Carolina State University.

The goal of analytics is to derive and effectively communicate actionable insights from a vast quantity and variety of data. It covers a broad spectrum of activities, including data management and quality, mathematical and statistical methods for data modeling, and techniques for visualizing data in support of enterprise-wide decision making.

The MSA program and NCSU, the first of its kind in the nation, is an interdisciplinary collaboration that offers an intensive learning experience with an innovative curriculum developed exclusively for students in the program. Admission to the MSA program is highly competitive with as few as one-in-eight applicants accepted by the Institute.
